I personally don't watch baseball anymore but for the first time in 27 years, they're losing the regular season games due to a work stoppage.

Feels like we might've seen the last season already.

"I had hoped against hope I wouldn't have to have this press conference where I am going to cancel some regular season games," Manfred said. "We worked hard to avoid an outcome that's bad for our fans, bad for our players, and bad for our clubs. Our failure to reach an agreement was not due to a lack of effort by either party."

I used to love baseball. Now? Fuck em.

Hope this is the end of the League and it goes under. These greedy owners have never cared about the fans.

They don't, at all. They basically told every fan to go F themselves

MLB is a lot closer to being the WNBA than aligned with the other major sports and that includes hockey.

I'd tell you, but you're too goddamned dim to understand, apparently.

Or else, you're just an argumentative asshole.

Either way, not a good look....

This seems completely whack. Normally, in labor disputes, either side doesn't bring up rule changes do they? That's not a rhetorical question. I couldn't believe that the players wanted to implement shift restrictions..wtf??

Joe I love that your a die hard .. most have given up on the MLB , despite the most talented athletes in the history
of the game the analytics have completely ruined the game play ..

shifts .. the analytics that have driven the offensive approach rely on a home run or strikeout as the usual
outcome ..

that is only just the start I have a unique perspective into the changes over the last 10 years
but I will stop there as I could go on a real tangent

I am on the sides of the players always and I can go into detail but there is nothing nice about
the way organizations treat players and manipulate ..

ill put it to you this way , as an example,.. the guy that is holding out for top dollar when he finally gets to free
agency.. yes perhaps he has been treated very himself.. but he has had teammates , past teammates ,
ex roommates .. that were totally fucked over the entire way up ..

it is more cut throat than you can imagine from the top down

the management created that culture

the agents exploit that

its a fucked up game that zaps the players love from it and it becomes a real job
very few can overcome the animosity

as far as Japan they prefer their American players to bet role players .. they love to add an American player
so as long as he dosnt become a star .. they love themselves a Barbaro Garbey .. a Buddy Biancalana
not a Barry Bonds

Metro, that's an excellent post man.
I don't know the inner workings of a MLB organization like that, but it definitely doesn't surprise me. I knew something was very screwed up when they came up with bs like 'he's the number 14 prospect". Never understood the purpose behind that crap. I can see where some things organizations do create a cutthroat environment. I agree that agents fuck things up too.
